On Monday we headed to Hilo- about 3 hours away- near there is the Volcanoes- we only saw the observatory- because there was too much Sulphur in the air- and we were not allowed in to see the Lava. Next time! It was wow!
We then headed- to the best place! Black Sand Beach! Its amazing!!! so black - and a Seal had washed up on shore- poor thing :( We also saw a Sea Turtle. It was a fun day!!!!! It rained on and off- and we even saw a rainbow :)
Hard to imagine we would soon be home.. sob.

we went to that beach! sorry you couldn't make it out to the lava; it's pretty cool. next time we want to go at night and really see it
us too! 4am is suppossed to be the best viewing!!!!!
